Electrical Engineering is an engineering discipline concerned with the study, design and application of devices, equipments and systems which use electricity, electronics and electromagnetism for basic operations. At The Sigalagala National Polytechnic we offer the best electrical and engineering courses, we offer courses from solar energy, mobile phone systems, we innovate to meet the societies’ communication, technology and energy needs.
The department has courses and modular skill training offered by qualified Staff in response to changing technology, job market and career needs. This is done through harmoniously imparting technology (theory), practice, research skills and hands-on-the-art practicum training to the learner in an interactive environment. We shape the learners’ destiny keeping abreast with the changing technological trends towards the service to humanity.The department is a center of excellence in renewable energy training, specifically Solar photovoltaic (PV). We have state of the art equipment donated through Kenya Education for Employment Program (KEFEP) and accredited with NITA.
The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering boasts of six workshops, one smart classroom and an ICT lab. It has a team of dedicated trainers registered with professional bodies.
Finally, we appreciate that the polytechnic cannot exist in isolation from the general public or community around it. We therefore welcome develop partnerships and collaborations with the public and private sectors.
